When I taught 5th grade, one of my favorite things to do with my kids was organize and keep Science Notebooks! A Science Notebook is a place for kids to record all that they learn and discover! There are many different ways to keep a science notebook. I like to keep it very organized (a good skill for kids to learn with their school work) while also giving them the freedom to make it their own! I am going to give you some ideas for ways to organize your notebook, keeping in mind that you should design your notebook in a way that is developmentally appropriate for your school aged child.
Our Summer Notebook will be specifically devoted to fun Summer projects and discoveries. It will be a notebook that we can easily access and pick up in the Summer whenever we want to record a fun discovery or experiment.
